Tommy Hilfiger Flipping Palm Beach Mansion Less Than Three Weeks after Buying It

The fastest flip in Florida may be an oceanfront Palm Beach estate being sold by fashion designer icon and real estate investor Tommy Hilfiger less than three weeks after he sealed on the purchase.  Mr. Hilfiger, 71, bought the 7,265-square-foot Mediterranean-style home for $36.85 million in a deal that closed at the tail end of January 2023, according to reports.

On Wednesday, he relisted the property for $47.95 million, $11.1 million more than he paid for it. It’s not clear if the designer did any work on the house that explains the price increase, but, if so, it would have been quite a speedy renovation.

According to reports Before Mr. Hilfiger got his hands on the five-bedroom, six-and-a-half bathroom residence, it was sold for $17.88 million in March 2021 to a LLC linked to high-end real estate agent Lawrence A. Moens, Mr. Moens sold the home to Mr. Hilfiger and is representing the resale.

The recent listing gives scant details on the home, which was originally built in 1927

The two-story, four-bedroom house and its one-bedroom guest quarters have a grand total of 7,265 square feet of living space, inside and out, including a 500-square-foot basement with a brick-detailed wine room and tasting area.

With its distinctive façade of quarried Key stone blocks, the house stands on four-tenths of an acre at the southwest corner of Via Bellaria, several streets north of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club.

Although the house faces a beachfront home across the coastal road, the latter’s low profile provides the former Moens residence with views of the Atlantic over about 166 feet of shoreline.

A sun-lit chef’s kitchen offers whitewashed wood, a central island and a double oven with a tiled backsplash, according to listing photos. It also has French doors leading outside.

Other amenities include a formal dining room with beamed ceilings, a covered patio, a pool house and a water feature, listing photos show. The house entered the Palm Beach Board of Realtors Multiple Listing Service late Wednesday.

Mr. Hilfiger is no stranger to Palm Springs real estate. He and his wife, Dee Ocleppo, bought a $9 million beach house there in March 2021, followed by a much larger purchase of a $46.25 million mansion in July of the same year.
