The adobe home, known as Sol y Sombra, is situated on the affluent east side of the city and served as Georgia O’Keeffe’s final home. She was known for painting the landscapes of the area as well as its bones, flowers, and clouds. She lived there until her death in 1986 at the age of 98.

Allen, the Microsoft co-founder who died in 2018 at age 65, bought the residence in 2000 when it was listed for $12.2 million, according to The Wall Street Journal. The final sales price was not disclosed at the time. Allen’s A Bodhi Tree that is thought to be related to the one the Buddha sat beneath when he reached enlightenment is also present in the greenhouse, according to Mr. Duran. The tree, which is now a stunning, mature specimen, was given to the previous owners as seeds by the Dalai Lama.

The 9,000-square-foot main home, which has double- and even triple-thick adobe walls, was constructed in the traditional Pueblo architecture that is so typical of the region in the 1930s, according to Mr. Duran. There are also doors leading outside, brick and hardwood flooring, kiva fireplaces, and beamed ceilings. According to the listing, there are six bedrooms in the main home, two guest houses, and a lodge for a total of 21 bedrooms. The property has most recently served as a conference center, but the agent said that the lodge is equally appropriate for gatherings and may be transformed into an art gallery. Also, there is a distinct conference center and an event center with a catering kitchen and a roof deck from which to view the magnificent sunsets in Santa Fe.
