After 10 years as the quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, Russell Wilson is headed to Denver. As such, the 33-year-old Super Bowl champion has listed his more than 11,000-square-foot mansion in the suburbs for $36 million.
Located in the affluent community of Bellevue, Washington, the six-bedroom, seven-bathroom residence sits on a bluff above Lake Washington and offers about 270-feet of water frontage, according to Carmen Gayton, managing director of Windermere Real Estate in Seattle.
“This house is unlike anything that many people ever get a chance to experience,” she said. “One of the things it has is a more than a 180-degree view of water…looking out at Seattle and some of the most breathtaking sunsets in the area.”
The lakefront estate is actually two parcels that have been combined into a nearly 2-acre property. The two properties are separately listed, with the mansion and its surrounding acre of land priced at $28 million and the adjacent lot, which is mostly vacant, asking $8 million.
The residence features a formal entry with 20-foot ceilings and a wrought-iron staircase, a huge kitchen, dining areas “perfect for an intimate dinner for two or something in excess of 50 people” and custom-carved wood doors for the office and primary suite, according to the agent. The main bedroom also boasts a round seating area overlooking the lake.
Mr. Wilson has owned the mansion since 2015, when he bought it for $6.7 million through a limited liability company linked to one of his business associates, according to property records. He purchased the adjacent lot in 2019 for the same amount, records show.
Now married to singer, model and actress Ciara, with whom he has three children, Mr. Wilson has made several additions to the home, according to Ms. Gayton, who sold the property to Mr. Wilson in 2015.
Those include several indoor and outdoor play areas for kids of all ages, such as a sport court, two beach areas with steps leading to the water, a tram to take guests and residents from the top of the property down to the lake, a dock with a lift for jet skis and room for a 60-foot yacht, a treehouse covered with a living wall and a dedicated toy room.
There’s also a new “glam room” adjacent to a huge dressing room with custom-storage for everything from luggage to Louboutins, the agent added.
“The wardrobe suite in and of itself is exquisite and has everything,” she said. “Then as you walk out of the wardrobe, you walk over into the beautiful salon and glam room where you have a place to go for your makeup to be done with a fireplace, with a sitting area, with a wall of sliders that allows you to look out to the beautiful Lake Washington view, which is absolutely stunning.”
