Eric Schmidt, Google’s ex-CEO bought a gorgeous $22 million Malibu beach house

When you’ve been CEO of a billion-dollar company, you’re bound to roll in riches. A living proof of that is Google’s ex-CEO Eric Schmidt and his sprawling real estate empire. After owning a couple of houses across the globe, the entrepreneur recently purchased a swanky malibu colony retreat, priced at $22.6 million.

Located inside a gated community, the novel beach home previously belonged to late real estate developer Ralph Kiewit Jr. It was originally listed for $29 million in December 2020 and later for $25 million in June 2021, before finally going to Schmidt for a huge discount.

The two-story brick and wood-clad structure boast three bedrooms and five baths in almost 3,500 square feet of living space. It is perched on a 0.3-acre lot and offers 55 feet of beach frontage and picturesque ocean and coastline views via floor-to-ceiling walls of glass.

The luxe home further comes with a fireside family room complete with a wood-beam ceiling, built-in seating and an integrated wall unit, a spacious beach-side terrace, a formal dining room, and an all-white eat-in kitchen with a large alfresco dining terrace.

It features a spiral staircase that connects to the upper floors, which hold an oversized master retreat with an ocean-view balcony, dressing area, and cedar-lined closet, further completed with a spa-like bath sporting a soaking tub and standalone shower.

As per the listing, the property also holds two additional bedrooms, an office space, a “classic tea house,” and a guesthouse with a full kitchen and bath situated over the garage. The home was constructed in 1969 and has been refurbished several times since.

It was sold by the Estate of Ralph Kiewit and is one of the chicest adds to CEO Eric Schmidt’s real estate portfolio, we reckon!
