David Spade’s Former Home Hits The Market In Los Angeles For $32.5 Million

David Spade’s previous Los Angeles residence is back on the market for $32.5 million, which is almost 66% higher than the $19.5 million asking price he received when selling it earlier this year.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Spade listed the house in January 2022 for just under $20 million and had an offer in hand after less than a week on the market. Spade recently returned to the character of the Invisible Man in Hotel Transylvania: Transformania. According to records, the actor and comedian paid almost $4 million for the house in 2001.

According to listing agent Stuart Vetterick of Beverly Hills-based brokerage Hilton & Hyland, the streamlined midcentury modern home is situated close to the Trousdale Estates neighborhood of Beverly Hills on a spacious three-quarter-acre lot that is centered on some of the best views in Los Angeles.

“This is a unique opportunity for someone to purchase an irreplaceable asset. Where else in Trousdale could you find a tennis court property with views of Century City and the ocean together in one,” Vetterick shares.

Trousdale Estates, located at the highest point in Beverly Hills and bordered by the celebrity-favorite Bird Streets, is home to some of Los Angeles’ most famous homes, including Kate Spade’s old residence. Homes in the area were created by renowned architects Paul R. Williams, Wallace Neff, A. Quincy Jones, and Frank Lloyd Wright. Throughout the years, notable tenants have included Ryan Seacrest, Ellen DeGeneres, Ryan Seacrest, Frank Sinatra, Elton John, and Elvis Presley.

Built in 2020, the 11,300-square-foot showplace sits within a mile of the Comedy Store and Laugh Factory.

The old Spade home was created in 1978 by Edward Fickett, a post-war architect who over the course of his career created more than 50,000 homes around Southern California. The house is currently for sale and has been updated and modified over the years. It has many distinguishing characteristics of the architect, such as careful clean lines and soaring floor-to-ceiling windows.

Four bedrooms and seven bathrooms are housed in more than 6,400 square feet of polished living space, together with an upgraded chef’s kitchen, a sitting area, and a stylish marble-topped bar. The dining room is elevated above the formal living room in the main living area, which also has a tall indoor “living tree.”

The exterior features a sizable, covered patio, a pool deck, a fire pit, and views of the city and ocean. The tennis court is lit and facing north to south right next to the pool area.

Former SNL cast member Spade is well-known for his work in the movies Tommy Boy, Joe Dirt, Grown Ups, and most recently The Wrong Missy. The long-running comedies Just Shoot Me! and Rules of Engagement are among his television credits.

According to rumors, Spade spent $13.85 million on a brand-new home in a different area of Los Angeles in late 2021.
